Good one, Neil. :clap The shadows make this a very interesting shot. Do you know what the graffiti say?

Neil,

I enjoy this image on several levels. Yes the shadows add, but for me, the shadows mainly play with the great textures. Textures are non-stop here and shapes galore. I also appreciate the building perspective not being squared. Being one whom enjoys shooting old SW architecture, this image naturally appeals to me.

Neil.......That is a really great image.. The composition is good and the colors are beautiful...Given the history of Tarut it is more than just a wall......:thumb

Great photo. Light, shadow, color and texture ... it's all there. I don't know where this place is, I will google it to see.

This place really haunts me and I don't know why :scratch

When I first saw it - looked like the shadows of 2 people being hung.

I'd like to know too what the graffiti says.

Excellent photo :thumb

Thanks R, glad you like it. The graffiti says "Messi", that is, Lionel Messi, the Argentina - Barcelona soccer player.

Thanks for your interesting thoughts, Randy. Glad you like it! I get a jolt when I stop and look at that big crack running down through the wall. It's so real and literal while everything else around it is a kind of hallucination.

Yes, you're right, Azzaro, the locals cling to these ruins as if they would have nothing to replace them with if they were bulldozed away. Thanks for you comment.

I was walking towards the Kasr (Fort), because the sun was just about to set and I planned to try some shots of it in that light. I just happened to look round and there was this wall behind me, all its surface alive and aglow, just begging me to take its photo. Is there luck in photography?:wink

Thanks for you comment!

Well, if you've ever played hangman you know the gallows is drawn like half this soccer goal - it's two joined gallows, with the tops of two minarets hanging in shadow on the wall. Then, there's this vacant lot, covered in shards, an association with the "potters field" of the New Testament. Pretty macabre.

Did you see my reply to R for what the graffiti says?

Thanks for your comment, Mary.
