Hi guys, is it possible to make my entrance video-player (http://michael-bastia.smugmug.com/) start by itself (autoplay), if yes how can i do it?
Thank you, Mika.

Not at this time. Most of your visitors will need to cache the video for a bit before playing. Starting it right away will cause them to have a poor viewing experience. Stutters, etc are possible.
Also, I personally hate sites that start crap automatically. I tend to leave. So keep that in mind as your visitors may feel the same way. My local news outlet has ads that start automatically and it really stinks.

Hi, i really think it's just simply and purely a question of your personal taste (you say= "I personally hate"), if you don't like it's ok with me. Tell me, when you physically meet a costumer are you frozen, mute and wait after him/her to interact, no i don't think so, so you see in the case of my site and many other autoplay video presentation is very intelligent way to interact and reach people through the WEB when your are not physically with them...............:)
Thank you
PS: also i visit recently the feedback forum, i have to tell you than the same idea is mentioned more than 1 time by other users, i also just visit your site, you do very nice photo in southwest Virginia

Yep, thats why I said "personally". My problem with autoplay is that it forces the interaction like a used car salesman. I do not set the priorities. So don't think my dislike is swaying the decisions. I promise, I pass along requests even if I disagree. My training as a patient advocate comes in handy here.
The Uservoice system, this forum, the feedback forum, emails to the helpdesk are all taken into consideration by the folks that do make the decisions. :thumb
