Hi,
I realize that in order to use map features I'm supposed to set site-wide SmugIsland to yes. But I would like to keep preventing public searches from leading to my gallery (i.e. keep SmugIsland set to no). Is there any hack/workaround that would let me use map features in my non publicly-searchable (but public) galleries?
And (just out of curiosity) is there any technical or other reason for requiring SmugIsland=yes for using this great feature?
Thanks!
Allen

I think the requirement comes from Google.

I think the requirement comes from Google. Thanks Allen, that was my first guess as well, but then I saw the map help page (http://www.smugmug.com/help/maps), which says:
Hidden photos, photos in password-protected or unlisted galleries, and photos protected by a site-wide viewing password will not show on maps (due to the terms of use of Google Maps.)
Your site-wide SmugIslands setting in your control panel must be "Yes" for Hello Smuggers, and your Customize Gallery settings should have "Inherit site-wide setting" for Hello Smuggers. The first bullet seems to deal with Google terms of use, but I pass all the requirements there. My galleries are public as long as you manually type the url. I just don't want to be accessible from smugmug.com searches.
