Canon 18-55 EFS question

I've noticed my dRebel kit lens is a bit noisy when gently shaken. The telescoping section wobbles slightly. Normal? I don't suspect this is a great lens, given the money. I'm starting to use my old 28-80 USM more often instead.

I've noticed my dRebel kit lens is a bit noisy when gently shaken. The telescoping section wobbles slightly. Normal? I don't suspect this is a great lens, given the money. I'm starting to use my old 28-80 USM more often instead.
I just checked mine out, and the telescoping section does have some movement. It may also heve some rattle when shaken. Hard to tell about noise. That said, the lens seems to work fine.
