Share your pictures of older men

One of my favorite demographics to photograph is old(er) men. I'm not sure if is because their faces are usually so much more interesting or because they've gotten to the point in their lives where they are comfortable in their own skin so there is a certain honesty and openness to their expressions versus wanting to "look good" for the camera. The portraits that I'm most drawn to that others have posted are of that nature.

What do you guys think? Do you have any old(er) men pictures to share?

Here is a brief capture that I snapped at a recent wedding. He struck me just sitting quietly at the table enjoying watching the dancing.

A note on the second cousin/twice removed thing: picture a family tree - not the pretty tree kind, the kind more like a flowchart. There you are, a product of your parents. There's your first cousin in the same row as you because you're from the same generation, and s/he's a product of your aunt and uncle. Your second cousin is in the same generation as you and your first cousin, but just further out to the side... your second cousins are the product of your parents' cousins (as opposed to your parents' siblings). So everything like first, second, third cousins moves horizontally across the tree, all in the same generation.

Now, let's say your first cousin gets married and has a baby, that baby is now one generation removed from you... so it's a first cousin once removed. A second cousin once removed is the baby that your second cousin has, and then let's say that your second cousin once removed grows up and has a baby, that baby is your second cousin twice removed - two generations away from you. So once, twice, three times removed moves vertically through the tree - all different generations.

Make sense? I know it's complicated to figure out initially, but if you sit down with a family tree and actually look at it, it starts to make sense. We have some folks in my family that are pretty big on the whole family tree thing, so we were all forced to learn this :)

:bow I love this. Usually I prefer older men portraits in black and white, but the colors in this are amazing.Thanks! it's a photo I'm very happy with. It's my grandfather on his 65th wedding anniversary. It's also the photo my grandmother wanted displayed at his funeral. It's very much 'him'.
