Left the house and I saw this almost over me. I went to a higher area by the house to take some pics. It didn't last long, but was pretty dramatic while it was there.

2) I thought this was going to get bad here

Yo Randy,

Even the " purist " view is darned impressive. The "treated " sky flat blows me away. Great capture and exceptionally well done with your magic PP.

Ride safe,

Tom

Great skies, Randy. :thumb I almost expect to see a huge spacecraft emerging, like in Independence Day.

Very nice captures there. That drop in the cloud is definately what you don't want to see over your house on the way home.

Thanks Tom,

I didn't push the first image very much, it was quite impressive!

It's funny, most people don't want to see a sky like this and head indoors. A photographer drives like a madman to get to a decent vantage point for pics :D

I must admit: I've seen too many of these skies while on the bike :huh

Hey, if you can't juice-up a good storm sky, then what's the point in life :dunno :rofl

Me too! ~ I had The National Inquirer on speed dial just in-case :D

Yeah, the clouds definitely had circulation there. But no worries, my house is the other direction :D

Howdy Randy,

WOWSER, I sure wouldn't have wanted to be in the middle of that if

it got nasty.

I agree, I'll bet the Pilot and Crew were so glad to be away from that, and I am sure the folks inside were pretty pleased<G>

I was starting to get a little worried for folks, that storm had some pretty good rotation to it, as can be seen over the apartment complex.

This is on the South approach to DFW Airport, so thunderstorms here can ball things up in a hurry.

Beautiful sky and dramatic shots, Randy.

I had an experience on my motorcycle in a Texas thunderstorm that I watched building clear across the state of New Mexico. Temp dropped 25 degrees just when I hit Amarillo and all hell broke loose. The rain was like a wall of water and I was completely surrounded by thunderbolts. It was pretty cool, but I did wonder if my bike was going to get washed off the road. :yikes Funny, it let up just when I hit Oklahoma.

Cheers,
-joel

Joel,

Thanks for the comments on the images.

I hear ya'... It's a rare trip through the Texas panhandle (on bike) that I don't encounter very violent thunderstorms. It's like they are just waiting for me :huh

What are you riding?
