Very sweet shot! There's a bit of blue around the top, but still nice, crisp and always a beautiful subject!

I typically desaturate the moonshots, but this time decided to leave the colors "as is", so I got some CA up North:-( :dunno

Size isn't everything you know. :wink You got some really great definition and contrast there. :nod Besides, with that 18MP sensor of yours, you're getting closer to the size I get with stacked TCs, but you get better image quality by using just one. I may have to break down and get one of these stupid things just to keep up. :rofl

You tend to see that blue in a telescope also.
Awesome shot! It's rare to see that kind of detail if shot through a telescope!

It's almost as if you roped it in to your bedroom window and took a picture of it then.

Is there any logical explanation of that bluish/greenish tint besides the optics-induced CA? :scratch

Well, with 400*1.4=640 and 1.6 crop factor it's very close to roping it in:-)
Thank you! :thumb

Is there any logical explanation of that bluish/greenish tint besides the optics-induced CA? :scratchIt's caused by the reflected sunlight coming through our atmosphere, there's enough light concentrated on the edge to mimic direct sunlight, and starts taking a blue tint. At least that's what I was told by a lunar expert I used to know.
While I believe that I also believe that our optics exaggerate it. You can't bend light without shifting it's colors.
