Smugmug is a great site! And its support forums are just as fabulous!
I recently upgraded from a Standard to Power User account so I could start playing with customization. I knew basically nothing about html, CSS or JavaScript coding.
But thanks to the Super Heroes that frequents these forums, I now have what I consider to be a top-notch, professional looking photo site.
Four people played a major role in helping me achieve this. They are:
Denise Goldberg with her 'HOW TO match your blog to your smug site (blogger-specific) (http://dgrin.com/showthread.php?t=101262)' thread and her patience in answering my questions.
John Friend with his 'Collection of javascript customizations (http://dgrin.com/showthread.php?t=135068)' thread. He also patiently answers several questions with clear concise explanations on how to correct coding and such.
Steve Allen with his great tutorial (http://allen-steve.smugmug.com/Other/Simpler-Album-Description/3819841_ywRwQ) on how to set up a Guestbook or About gallery.
Joe Allen who patiently answered a number of my questions, explaining where coding needed to be changed or where a tutorial was available that would help with what I was attempting.
