View Full Version : Off Topic, but wanted to share some happy news!

A little while back I had posted a photo in the Wildlife forum to get some feedback on it. I had taken this photo for a local photography contest.
The Land Conservancy of McHenry County had a contest to showcase the beauty of the land they protect and preserve. I was assigned a specific property to shoot. Long story short....they held a Benefit at a local gallery where they displayed all of the entries. Now, this is not anything I've ever ventured into before, but, I did have some totally unexpected success.
I was not acknowledged in the "juried" part of the contest, but that night they had a "Peoples Choice" voting as well.....and, I was announced as the winner of the Peoples Choice!(There was probably 200 or so people attending). I was so shocked and so happy, I just wanted to share it here, since I spend most of my time here.
If interested, here is a link to their website, where they just posted pics from that night. Scroll thru, there are 6 pages. My pic is the geese in the cornfield. On the last page, the center pic is me receiving my award.

Congratulations, Karin! I would have voted for your image too because it was best of the bunch. Oh, and the picture of you receiving the award looks so genuine filled with lots of emotions. I love it.
