Hi you'll,
Its been a tad crazy down here so I've been AWOL for awhile. First ny father-in-law started dialysis treatments (my wife and I had to drive him) and then 3 of my grandkids came down for a visit. My 14 month old grandson slept in my computer room so when he was awake I had no time to get online and when he was sleeping I was afraid to go online and wake him up.
Anyhow I'm back and here's my last set of flight shots from my rookery shoots.
Hope you enjoy.

Hi Harry,
Guess the kids left you intact.....bet you enjoyed the visit.
I hate you for making those BIFS look so easy! Excellent shots! Keep the Wetlands company while I am away. Not sure if I will have internet or not...but if not, I'll catch up with you when I get back!
Take care!!

All fantastic shots Harry. My favorites are the first and last. I like how the egret in the background of the first works for a backdrop to keep the twig from fading into background. And the last egret the whites look very brite and still very detailed which i have found very hard to do in my snow shots. Well done.
Best regards,
douglas

Hey Sud,
Glad you liked the shots and I'm sorry that I didn't get a chance to give a heads up on my absence. I kept expecting to get back at my pcs and my expectations just didn't come true.

If I had to pick just one, I think it would be the first one in the series. I love the wing position, the great DOF separation, the lighting, and the twig in the egret's beak. Brilliant work!

Hey Trish,
It was a fun visit. I had a few activities planned but the kids just wanted to hang by the house and swim in the pool.
Have a great trip.

Glad you liked them Douglas. The trick with exposing these shots is to expose for the bird and not worrying about the background.

Beautiful work, Harry! The last two are my favorites. I love how you always get them tack sharp and get all the detail in the feathers. You make it look easy. But I can't even get my butterflies sharp sometimes and they are hardly moving. :rofl

I keep the handful that came out sharp and I flush the rest. http://dgrin.com/images/smilies/biggrinbounce2.gif

Nice shots, Harry. Where is that rookery located? We have one here in Venice, Flordia that is pretty famous/popular. I unfortunately have not been there yet.
