I was soooo mad at myself for missing this shot because I was tinkering around. The DOF is such a thin slice that only the tips of her right eyelashes are in focus and some of her eyebrow......now I know though :)

I think that is what you would call paper thin! Wow!!!

I think that is what you would call paper thin! Wow!!! Yeah that 135 is a sweet piece of glass but at f/2.0 for a candid shot you have to be very lucky to have the subject's face perfectly square and be lucky enough to focus exactly on the eye and not the eye lashes.

Are you sure it's not simply front focused? I can't discern anything in the foreground that's not in focus. And for what it's worth, I think the focal points add to the shot. I like how the clarity of the eyelashes draws me in and how there are a set of hairs upper left that give definition to the shot. The gold-ish splotches across the forehead and bridge of the nose are a bit distracting.

Thanks Mitch. The splotches are actually sunlight coming through the trees :) and the crop is literally sooc.

That's a very thin DoF! I would have liked a little more DoF for this shot though, shotwise.

Yeah I wished I had a bit more DoF as well.
