This one is simple:
high noon;
try to select a cloudless day;
no hiding in a shade;
use the sun as your hair/rim light;
use a reflector (or a windsdhield cover, or a white t-shirt, of a poster board, etc.) as a fill;And get us a nice daylight portrait! :-)

Does an hour or so before your post count as "archive"? 'cause I was out doing this very thing, today.

Oh, that High Noon. I thought we'd be taking pictures of cowboys having gunfights at the dusty old corral. :D

If it's a high noon and sun is in proper position, and you can use something as a reflector (white horse?) - by all means, do the "OK Corral" version. Just remember, those 10 gallon hats cast a very deep shade, so you have to have a really nice reflector :-) :wink :rofl
