Stretchy slideshow... anywhere?

I just realized today that if you have an html only gallery you can embed a stretchy slideshow (or regular slideshow I would imagine) in the gallery...

Has anyone done this? I was thinking it could make a nice clean portfolio gallery. You could setup a gallery with the actual images and have it unlisted, and then use your html only gallery as the public front for the portfolio. I'd probably set it up with buttons visible but no thumbs, because as we all know thumbs are the worst thing ever and make slideshows frustrating and useless because they pop up over the image, obscuring it...

Has anyone else done this? Are there any flaws in this plan that I'm not seeing?

Actually, now that I think about it, you can do the same thing with the normal slideshow gallery style. So this post is pretty much pointless, EXCEPT that I'm not sure how to get a border around images with the normal slideshow style. Is that possible?

There is no built-in customizability to the gallery slideshow. You could try using customization #17 here (http://www.dgrin.com/showthread.php?t=135068) and specifying the border parameters for your gallery slideshow in that customization. It might work, but I haven't tried it. It might be easier to just embed a stretchy slideshow in your own HTML page (like you original imagined) because then you get direct control over all the slideshow parameters.
