and my own ignorance! At least I wanted to leave the rainy place to the 20 yr olds anyway. But my shutter release I had for my Rebel, 300D, did not work with the 20D, don't know what my problem was there.
On the other hand, I had thought I could just arrive, read my manual, put my camera on manual, with the shutter release and be set to go in the dark. It didn't work that way, put the lens on manual focus, too. The darn camera still would not do anything, found the bulb setting, still no go..............and there was the shutter release situation..............
And the drunk 20 yr olds: all the beer (I don't drink beer, it upsets my stomach) one could drink, even Bill looked happy. Oh, did I mention the downpour. And the lights were revolving, people were everywhere. Read a manual with revolving lights.
So, we left, and I, you know my temper, dead sober, too, I had a fight with a cop who insisted I could not get my car out until everyone who was coming in, got in. And that was almost 11 PM. And it cost me $20.00 for this fun.
Hey, Angelo, I had my husband's tripod, my husband's extra sturdy tripod, and my monopod. (I should have hit the cop with them. Has anyone noticed that cops are not "friends" anymore. If I weren't such a WASP, I could sue for discrimination.) Being deaf probably doesn't help. Finally I realized that I couldn't read lips with a flashlight in my face. I pointed that out, as nicely as possible with a cop yelling at me, he put the flashlight on his face, and I got out of there.
I am going to shoot birds. I am looking for snowy egrets in particular.

Good luck to the rest of you: read your manuals, BEFORE you leave. I am going to have to NOT sell my long lens, need the extra money the whole thing would cost me, trading lenses, just to buy a shutter release????
