This was not quite the sunrise I was hoping for at Mesa Arch but I've never seen rays quite as spectacular as these before.

Wow - pretty amazing. I second Aaron, if this is not the sun rise you are looking for then I can't wait to see it when you find it.

Yea, I'm not sure what you were hoping for but this looks like a winner to me! I really like the perspective, as Awais said you don't see this image nearly as much as the full arch from a distance.

Nicely done.

Yep, instead of the cliche shot you were going for you got something better, hate when that happens! :D

Might be just a *touch* over saturated, but I still love it anyway. I wish I would have stuck around a little longer but the crowd was getting on my nerves.

Love it! Not the iconic shot (and that is a good thing); a fresh look at a MUCH shot scene. Great job.

Wow, I'm surprised by how much people like this shot. Thanks to everyone for the kind words. :D

The sunrise I was hoping for was the cliche glow under the arch shot. However, the cloud cover on the horizon was a bit too heavy for direct sunlight but it did yield these incredible rays that stretched across the valley. I guess my problem with the photo is that the colors are a bit too muted but that might not always be such a bad thing.

Ron, I think I'm going to take the saturation down just a touch in the midground but I'll probably leave the rest as is.

As the others have said, this shot is definitely a wonderful capture. Of course it's not the cliche shot everyone always goes for but wow, it is very unique in itself. I really love it. Good job!

I know what you mean about the sunrise (I think)... but you captured a very unique shot that is different from all the others I've seen and IMO better.:thumb
