Just got back from a nice few days in Moab.

Here are a few shots. The guy in the first two is my stepson, at Delicate Arch. We were waiting patiently for sunset, which ended up being hidden by clouds. I know most people on the planet have taken the second shot, but I still like it.

The third is a rare picture of me (with a mug like mine, it's best to stay hidden behind the camera) taken by my wife at Park Avenue, just after sunrise. What's remarkable is that I had the camera set at F22, 1/60 to use on the tripod. She must have steadier hands than me :D This was with the Tokina 12-24 @ 12mm. The first two are using the Nikon 28-70.

Thanks Marlof.

I'd highly recommend a visit to Utah if you get the chance. We met a nice bunch of Dutch tourists, along with plenty of French and German people there.

Just buy plenty of Fat Tire beer in Colorado to avoid the funny UT rules.

David,

Wonderful shots - the lighting is impressive - I guess it paid off to wait for sunrise.
Would love to visit there someday. Actually looks a bit like the Valley of Fire near Las Vegas!
Regards,
Kevin

Actually I meant to say 'sun set'!

Actually I meant to say 'sun set'! Thanks Kevin. To get the best results in Moab, it's either early in the morning or late in the evening. There must have been fifty people waiting for sunset when we were at Delicate Arch.

I had not been there for about five years, then it was for mountain biking. One of my favorite parts of the country, that's for sure.
