Those are cool shots, Ben. I especially like the first one. IMO, and in other's opinions, "flat" light can be very good.

The Nature photographer who did our workshop this spring prefers it, and so do I, actually. Well, not always, different lights have different advantages. Cloudy can mean shooting any time of the day. No pesky shadows/contrast issues.

I really do like that first shot, I like it best for the story it tells with the bird carrying all that stuff.

(I had the worst time last night, so terrible, nothing worked right, and everyone there was in their twenties. It was a music thing at a place I usually love, supposed to have fireworks. We left, so I don't know, it was raining. I kept thinking how much I preferred the birds.)

Wonderful shots, Ben.

Yes I agree about Cormarant shot, wish I had more good ones to show. They were quite busy carrying stuff to their nests, lot's of fun shooting indeed. :D
