Hi guys, I need some critics :deal for my website. I just did a total makeover (http://lens-bh.blogspot.com/2009/09/beta-layout-of-2010.html).

Nice work, simple and effective, very easy to navigate through :clap
However, I'm not too keen on the flagcounter as I feel it stands
out like a sore thumb against the rest of the site, if it's possible
it might look better as a small logo that flysout upon hovering over, that way it's still there and serves a purpose but doesn't distract.
but thats just my opinion :thwak
I noticed you have the widget working for Facebook "become a fan"
what script/code did you use to get it to work?
I used some javascript I thought was right from the facebook wiki page but all it did was render my navbar obsolete (all buttons just reloaded homepage).
would be very grateful if you could point me in the right direction to get it to work as I want to be able to have that link on my homepage and within all my galleries to hopefully build a fanbase and get some feedback.

i too like the simplicity of your site. but i must also agree with the flag counter, it doesn't look right, if you are stuck on keeping it, perhaps the background colour could be changed? dunno if it has that option!

Hi Mohamed,
Just wanna say the same, with the flag count and if you want it on the front page, maybe consider changing the color, as it draws the viewers eyes straight to it. Talking about the green color, it's sure stands out a lot, but I can see that you use in your logo and business cards so it's not so simple to change.
Another thing is to have a video on your home page, is not to recommend as it takes a long time to load and you just don't have that long time before the viewer leaves your site again.
Also it's good practice to have your contact information on every page.
Hope you can use my feedback.
Cheers,
Torben

Changed the flagcounter, what you think now? :rolleyes

Go to your Page, Click "Edit Page", go bottom right of the screen, you will see: "Get your Badge".
Now click on "Fan Box" > Choose your page > Choose whether you want streams and fans included (you will see a preview on your right), then choose "Other" and copy the script to your gallery description where you want it. :thumb

I have set the video to not autoplay, and actually it takes less time for the thumbnail of the video to load than the slideshow itself. First time visitors always watch the video, but when they return to the website, they don't have to play it again.

Your flag counter looks 100% better, now it flows with the rest of your site:barb

Thanks for the reply, I finally found the badge ctreator this morning.
Does it automatically include the button to allow new fans to join through your website?
or does it need more code for that?
I am putting it in using the web developer tool in firefox at the moment and I get an ugly big blue and white facebook box frame with my icon on it and the text link to my fan page above it.
I would like it similar to yours where the badge is transparent and has the logo with the text link and the "become a fan" button to the right of it,
I will continue playing around with it today though, I'm sure I'll figure it out :scratch

Thanks for the flag advice, I need more critics though, want people to dig the unnoticed :deal
For the badge, I just pasted the code to my gallery description, that's all. Try logging out of your facebook or logging in with somebody's username that is not a fan of your page, then see how it will look for someone who is not in ur fan page.

my suggestion if you would like a more business looking site,
*your first page should say something of you ... perhaps you could move / incorporate the A brief from your about page to your front / home page. only because you do not have that animation running when someone first arrives on that page. actually it would be nice if it were running at all times when one first arrives at your page. but did i read it makes the page slow to read?
*on your testimonial page, if you really want to keep the 'google' link, i would move it down to the bottom somewhere. and your facebook link i would think would be on your contact page, or it might look okay without the google link.
*back to this flag counter -> is there anyway you could have appearing on only one page, and not all of your pages? the visitor number count, where it has the green background, can that be changed to a black background, so it blends just a little more?
just my thoughts.......
Thanks Microcosim.. What else can i do to make the site more effective, less photo sharing looking, more business looking
