I was looking for something to shoot tonight & I remembered that the commuter train that runs between Dallas & Ft. Worth has a stop a couple of miles from my house. So I drove over there and took some shots.

These are shots from four different passing trains. (actually two trains, but four passes)

All shots were hand-held using my 5DMkII & 24-105L f/4 IS
(shot #1 free-hand ~ all others; free-hand but leaning against a light pole)

Sorry about the redundency of the shots, but I couldn't decide which ones to post. Besides, what else is there to do on a Thursday night but to take, or look, at pictures...

1) ISO 3200 ~ f/4 ~ 1/60

I absolutely LOVE the colors. I adore #1, 2 & 7. I like 7 best of all the motion shots... I think the way the stripe in the middle created by the windows falls off really puts it in my favor.

Like your results in #1 & #8. #1 is nice composition and a fine exposure.
Your PP to it is spot on for me.
#8 has the most interest for effect, for me, than the shots previous to it.

Randy, gotta go with the motion-blur shots, it adds to me so much more dynamics than the static image...especially the last several. Thanks for the exif info on each...well done!

Hey Michael,

I was board and looking for something to shoot. These shots have given me some ideas that I can use w/client shots.

Thanks for your input on them.

Thanks Serrator,

Now that I've shot these, I'm thinking maybe a shot of a guitar holding client jumping from one side of the tracks to the other, Chuck Berry style if you will, framed like image #1. Him frozen mid-jump w/flash.

I'd also like shots of a couple on the platform (Casa Blanca style) with a moving train in the background.

We'll see...

I appreciate your input :thumb

I have yet to put together a list of locations since I am not pressed to do so.
If I was a working at it for a living I'm sure that would not be the case.

#8 and #5 are my favorite :thumb

The 24-105 lens is a wonderful lens. Wouldn't leave home without mine.
