Google Maps visiting my site from all over the planet.

All of a sudden my site is being visted by Google Maps from all over the planet the last few days. This one specific gallery and mostly this photo: http://wiseguys.smugmug.com/gallery/4399363_eDfrh#258427524_FDTb9
Hard to believe there is that much interest in Niagara Falls in Winter photos all of a sudden.

Your thread is now going a bit sideways, sorry about that. As to your original problem I'm not exactly sure why it is happening in your case but we had a similar thing when someone posted a link to one of our photos on a forum. For about a week we had a spike on that one photo from all over the world. In your case someone may have made a link to a google map that also contains your photo.

...but I'm only guessing.

I do post ocassionaly on forums and blogs but never have with any of these photos. I just checked my stat counter and it is full of Google Map visits today. All from the Niagara Falls in Winter gallery. Over 150 visits so far today. Jumps all over. Atlanta, GA., Swtzerland, England, Germany, Quincy,Ill. etc.etc. ???

Yes, I do have it public. What I am questioning is the frequency of the same few photo's being visited. I do understand how to go private with the galleries, etc. I just thought all this activity was unusual.( Hundreds and hundreds of visits from all over the plantet.) The gallery has been online for almost two years. Thank you for your time.
