And so be prepared for regular photos - they are right in my front yard!

the difference between the above and this one is a difference in choosing white balance when converting from raw - as shot above, and sunny below.
Opinions?

Opinions?

ann,

i think this photo is stunning! i prefer the cooler look over the other treatment. i think the sunny version looks a bit flat. i think the first version maintains more of the contrast and therefore appears sharper to my eye.

any way you process it, its a beautiful capture!

It's amazing what you can find in your own backyard. Yesterday morning I was in my backyard smoking and heard some rustling in one of the big trees. I saw a shower of dead leaves come down. One of our dogs and I went over to check it out. We were looking for what caused all those leaves to fall. All of a sudden here comes something out of the tree and PLOP it lands on the ground. It was a juvenile possum who I guess lost his grip and fell about 20 feet to the dirt. He was stunned and was bearing his teeth in fear or pain. I had to get my dog away from him before there was bloodshed. So I wasn't able to get a shot of him on the ground :rolleyes But, I now know there's wildlife all over. Even in my own backyard....lol

Thanks everyone.

Interesting thoughts about the different wb - I find the green in the 'sun' version unrealisic, but pleasing! Funny isn't it!

Steve - I was going to say that you have more exciting wildlife than I , possums seem very exotic, but then I've had porcupines, coyotes, deer and a weasel in addition to the birds so I guess that is quite interesting in itself! Glad the dog didn't get into ti with the possum.

Here is one more of them being fed, afternoon light this time:
