I chased this guy all weekend…

I kept seeing this buck all weekend but couldn't get a decent shot until this evening. It stopped by my neighbor's front yard to look for fallen apples under his Golden Delicious tree. The apples aren't due to be fully ripe for another month but the deer around here quickly snap up any that have fallen.

I was in such a hurry to try to get a shot when I spotted this buck coming up that I forgot to bring my tripod. My porch railing ended up working just fine and gave a nice low angle as well.

Earlier in the day, I spotted a much younger buck that had better luck in its apple-hunting:

I had hoped to get to Yosemite during the Labor Day Weekend, but a big fire caused the road I'd normally use to be closed all weekend. Turns out, I found decent wildlife right here at home and saved an hour or so of driving... :D

You couldn't ask for a better pose in the 1st one, but it'd be even better if you can get rid of the faucet and hose growing out of the front leg.

It would look better IMO if there was a little more room around the buck. As far as the plumbing goes...that's easily cloned out.:D

Thanks for the comments and kind words.

I cropped in tight to eliminate some clutter in the picture (there's a young tree to the right of the buck and it's surrounded by a metal cage to keep the deer from eating it...very distracting).

So, since I was cropping off the right, I opted to also come in tight on the left and make it almost a portrait. I'll take a look at a wider crop (still sans the cage) though I may have to wait until I get another chance to shoot this buck.

The faucet was left in as I rushed to upload. Yes, it should be clone out (excellent catch).
