The Convair RB-36H Peacemaker: The subjects in question are engines with protective shrouds, specifically the 2 General Electric J47-GE-19 turbojets on the right wing, capable of 5,200 lbs. of thrust each. The airplane has four of them total, two on each side. It also has 6 Pratt & Whitney R-4360-53 radials (3 per side), capable of 3,800 hp each.

Nice photo. I like the angle. The background would be good if you could PS out the support equipment.

Very interesting covers on the intakes. Looks like they work like umbrella's.

Cool engines. Never have seen intake cones like that other than the type
found on the SR-71. Wonder if they work the same or are just protective
covers.

Google search shows your engine detail as the only one
like it out there. Doing the search for what the overall aircraft looked like
led me to this interesting page which detailed some crashes of this aircraft
type. Interesting read.
