Transparent Boxes

I'm sure the answer is on Dgrin someplace, but I can't seem to find it. While trying to customize my pages, I've tried several different code variations, but I can't make it work. I would like the boxes on my home page and subsequent pages transparent so the background image on the page is what is seen running through the page.
