Hi Folks,
I have goog knowledge of CSS and HTML but I'm a new with SmugMug and a bit lost with the customization options and password protection rules, I'm currently in trial as power user and I will definitely take the power user account at the end of the trial.
At first I thought using SmugMug only to host my family / vacation photos behind a password because I don't want every one out there to see my wife in bikini (well actually I'm ok with that, in fact she's not) so the password protection on the whole site was fine.
However there seem to be such a great community here that finally I would also like to share my other, let's say more artistic photos in a public category instead of on a pixelpost photoblog I'm currently using.
But I don't understand how to properly separate both categories.. Let's ay I would like my home page to display public sub-categories and albums from the "Public" main category and have a navbar link to the "Private" main category listing Private sub-categories and albums but with password protection.
My problem is that apparently only individual galleries or the whole site can be password protected, not categories or sub-categories. Ok I can define the same pasword to all my private albums but people clicking on the link to my "Private" category will still see the listing of subcategories and galleries with their names - which is not very elegant - and if I set all my private galleries to be unlisted then they won't appear at all, even for those who know the password and come to check if there's something new.
I'm not sure that I get everything correctly so correct me if I'm wrong, and let me know if there's a trick to achieve this or something similar..
Thanks for your help!
