thanks for explanation! (I thought it was maybe some kind of insult :doh ) and thanks everyone for the kind words!

I got myself a camera last year (Nikon D40) to take photos at the bike races, upgraded to a D200 toward the end of the year. At the start of the year I was asked if I could supply the club with photos for the race programmes so got myself a 70-200mm f2.8 & TC1.7 and insurance so that I could shoot trackside.

Its been quite a steep learning curve (the internet and this forum has been a great help so far), I hope i'm going in the right direction!

a couple more hacks :D from this season...

That's pretty impressive if you've only been shooting for so short a time!

The air in #3 is pretty good…

I think #4 is brilliant! …the concentration and intensity is all in there in the eyes!

…nice!

- Wil

BTW: As to the title: perhaps you were talking about the "eyes" on the fairing of the machine. I assumed you meant the rider, and looking at #4 reminds me of just how crucial being able to see the rider's eyes is to the effectiveness of the picture; if he/she† were wearing a tinted visor, the picture would not have had anywhere near the impact! Great job!

† looks like a "she" to me - what do you think?
