Beautiful shot Mike!! Only improvement might be, might be, shooting her from the front and seeing her eyes.

That really is a good shot! I would also like to see it from further away i think that may add to the shot. Seems hard for me to say anything about it since its such a good one !

I was thinking maybe less depth of field (selective focus of her and the flowers that were the same distance as her and then out of focus near and far). It may be a smidge tight, but in lieu of selective focusing I think the tight crop really makes her the focus.
I really didn't have time to think about it unfortunately. Had I thought I would have missed the shot. One of those things I guess. I suppose I could add a selective focus with photoshop.
How lucky was I to be where I was when I took this eh? A girl in purple tulips with a purple jacket and light purple hood. :dunnoI guess sometimes things just work out. Her little brother had on a whole superman outfit (cape and all) and was running around. I was shooting them both surreptitiously which is mostly why I shot her from behind. Plus now I don't have to worry about not having a release...

Hi Mike: This is a fun, sharp, colorful shot.
I would only suggest that seeing her face would be a huge improvement... my reason for suggesting that is I would prefer another focus other than purple. IMHO
Without her face and eyes to draw me in all I see is the color. Since her sweater so perfectly matches the flowers it's easy to assume a selective color trick was employed here (because the technique has become so prevalent).
Just my $.02 :dunno

I actually think this works without seeing her face. But I do agree that you should have less focus on the top and bottom flowers, because it otherwise can be a little dizzying to look at.
And I love that the sweater matches the flowers so well. Whether it was edited that way or not, it's beautiful and rather breathtaking. If it were my picture I'd certainly edit the sweater to match. :) Though, I tend to do that kind of thing a lot.
Great job! :thumb

I haven't altered any colors. Her sweatshirt just happened to match.:dunno

A lovely field of passion purple tulips with a sweater to match.
Imagine if it was a yellow sweater instead---would give a strong contrast.
She seems to get lost in the field--a flower within a field of flowers.
Very nice

I love the colors. I also like the fact that the girl is looking away and is off-center. Nice touch, in my opinion. I agree a shallower depth of field would be of help. I also think this would be a great shot done with a Lens Baby.

The young lady and her matching jacket amidst the field of matching
tulips is well exposed and nice and sharp too.
I would like to see more of the field to the right or a wider angle shot.
Maybe reposition the youngster so her head isn't blocked by a tulip otherwise,
she's almost lost in the field. A contrasting colored jacket would make her stand
out though I can see how you color "fits".
Very nice shot that works even though her back is too us.
Look forward to seeing more of these!

I like the shot as it is. It is always easy to talk about a possible better framed or colored shot after we see it.
I think this is a great shot, great colors, and a good eye to see what is there on the right time and in the right circumstances.
I don't think we have to adapt shots just because we can. Sometimes it is nice to have a right and goodlooking shot straight out of the camera.
