I got two pretty good shots of this guy today. I missed the "great" one, of course. He was sitting on the rail of my deck tearing into something for lunch. A mouse or a lizzard I guess. I ran into the house and came back with my camera. By the time I got back he was done eating. :cry But he sat there for a couple of minutes and let me take his picture. Then he took off so fast I missed that shot too. Oh well, I can't really complain. This is my first bird shot. And the first with my new 55-200 lens. I really needed the full zoom. Next time I gotta get a 300mm.
If you have any pointers for me, feel free. Thanks.

Wonderful photo, Snappy, great capture.:clap You are fortunate to living with these gorgeous creatures.
Any advice: get a 400 mm lens.
ginger, I have a 300, the photography book I am reading says a 400 would be better.:thumb

where it's giving you the "eye" :): I'd also suggest a 400 rather than a 300, birds are never close enough:cry H
