Looking for 70-200 f/2.8 sigma, or f/4L canon.

OR. 135mm f/1.8, or 100mm f/2, or 28-75 Tamron Di XR etc...

I like fast sharp lenses that are affordable.

Make my day :-)

As title says. I can get one new for 1100$CDN, and I've seen them selling for roughly 550$.

Anyone got one (or similar) for sale? Mine is not for sale, but I just thought I would tell you that I once sold mine, and I missed it so much I went out and bought one again. Great lens. BTW, you did not say what mount/body vender you want it for.

James.

Boy, those prices look really good - I am fairly sure that last year when I priced the Sigma that it was close to $1400. I also can't recall one on ebay or elsewhere for $550. I might be tempted to buy at those prices and then resell!!!

Note that I work for a Camera store. When I buy one, it's got a 7 year warranty, and it's probably purchased at store discount.

I'm willing to sacrifice the warranty for a better deal. I don't really have 1200$ to ditch on a lens at the moment.

If I buy one, will anyone buy it from me when i'm broke as hell?

I'm so confused... you work at a camera store, but you pay full price? and is that full price 1100 or 1200? You changed your mind from post 1 to post 2... I'm no good with your funny money, so where have you seen it for $550cdn, cause that is damn cheap.

Scott,

If you don't care for warranties than perhaps sigma4less is a shop for you. They have reasonsable reseller rating. I found them by accident when trying to figure out my next setup. It is hard to discount Sigma when the price difference to Canon is so significant.

There are 2 versions of this lens so make sure you know what you are getting.
Older model (http://www.sigma4less.com/sess/utn;jsessionid=1542c51d8b5d1e7/shopdata/0020_Lenses/0040_Zoom/0050_Tele+Zoom/product_details.shopscript?article=0010_Sigma%2B70-200mm%2Bf=26slash=3B2=252E8%2BEX%2BAPO%2BIF%2BHSM% 2Bfor%2BCanon%2BAF%2B=28SG70200F28CA=29)

nonon. 550$US a few weeks ago at fredmiranda....

I can buy one straight from Gentec (who supplies Sigma), for essentially the retail price up here minus tax. It's cheaper from the US, but I lose my warranty for the equivalent of saving... 250$, and i still need to make sure the lens clears the border.

I think i'm going to put the lens purchase on hold though, I didn't get my days off that I wanted, and thus cannot go to the Toronto Indy :cry...
