Can somebody please help me explain what is the difference between these two galleries. Why will my #googleadsense div display in one and not the other?? i'd like them to display unless i explicitly tell it not to. thanks

Open both galleries in their customizer screen and compare them, another easy way to make sure that you use the same settings is to customize a gallery exactly the way you want it and then at the top of the customize page look for the drop down menu "Quick settings:" then choose "save settings on this page as".

I already compared them both side by side... no difference that I could see.

I could try the quick and dirty method of save as, but i'm trying to get to the root of the issue cuz i have a lot of galleries that are currently affected by this.

Thanks

I don't know how to tell without being logged in, but it's the settings of the gallery or some CSS somewhere that is telling it to ignore it or not telling it to add it.

Make sure they are both set to traditional or not set on clean. I'm almost positive you've skipped over something and the galleries are not set to the same specializations.

If you want me to log in and take a look I can but it's up to you.

http://richmarphotography.com/BrandonEthan/June-2009/8695144_J9Naw I don't see any difference between the two configurations. In fact, the Google Adsense div is actually there in both galleries, it just isn't showing anything in one gallery. It's got me stumped.

I found the same thing as jfriend. How are your hellos set? Google doesn't like any set to no.

i actually did some tests just now by putting some test text inside the div tag and it looks like all is working fine, but for some reason the google show_ads.js is not showing anything... guess i'll have to take this up w/ google.

Did you see jfriends response? How is your gallery set for Hello World?

yes.. i noticed john's response. but i found that to not be a common denominator. the galleries i have set to hello world 'no' are generally personal galleries that i'd rather not show up in google.

but i will need to start going through and making sure my public work is found by google.

The question was "is the gallery that's not showing the Google stuff set to
"NO". You have not answered that.

it was set to "no", but i also have others where it is set to "no" and the ads were showing up just fine... that's what i meant by no common denominator.

i just enabled the PSA (public service announcements) feature on adsense so it will at least show something so it won't be as confusing. looks like all the ads are working again...

weird. man i just lost a lot of hairs for no reason. i did happen to clean out a lot of old javascript which was probably dragging down the site.

thanks for all the love!!
