Negative Image vs SM Negative Image

My Sony dsc-f828 has the ability to take an image as a negative. I wanted to compare the camera's native capability to SM's conversion. Here's the results:

Is it just me or are SMs negative lacking some 'pop' that's found in the in-camera negatives? :scratch
