I've made a couple of fun new purchases lately, and thought I would share.

First, I found a vintage suitcase (see below) at a flea market for $4! I love it. Found lots of other good stuff too, but haven't got the chance to break them in yet!

Second, I finally jumped on the actions/textures bandwagon, and I love it! Here are my boys, using different vintage actions and textures.

7. I like it more with the texture on the background, than without the texture.

8. This one does not have any vintage color, only texture added to the background.

9. This was my very first try at this. I think I would like it better with the texture erased off of baby.

Thanks for looking, and I'd love to hear what you think.

I love all of them with textures! The ones without are good on their own, but now that i've seen your textured once, they don't look as good, of course, in comparison. :D

Which textures/actions did you use? I've been thinking about this stuff, but can't find anything i like, and do like yours!! :thumb

Very nice!

I'd also love to know what actions/textures you used for #'s 1, 2, & 3.

Thanks for all of your great input so far (minus the evil one- LOL. Doesn't offend me at all, everyone's entitled to an opinion).

For those of you interested, the actions and textures used here are from Nichole Van. They are from her Vintage Chic set. I have some others posted on my flickr stream, using both Nichole Van, and Lillyblue. Here's the flickr address if you want to see any more examples:

Loving #1! The vintage really works here. I am not a huge fan of the last one though. I think it is a bit overdone and takes away from the cute baby face. Thanks for the links...will have to look into them!

I still need to go back and remove the texture off of the baby on the last one. It was the first one I had ever done, before I figured out how to remove some of the texture.

#1 looks delicate. Though maybe a bit feminine, I like it.

Love the ones on the train tracks!

I am being 100% honest here... it made me look for my Adventures of Tom Sawyer book! :rofl That's awesome.

Love 1 & 8. On nine the texture on the face bothers me.

Very rustic looking. I think this family was perfectly suited to this look.

Thank you so much for all the wonderful comments and honest critiques. I'm glad I think I've finally figured this out, and it helps so much to hear other people's opinions. I love Dgrin!

Also love the comment about the Tom Sawyer book! AND to the person that said #1 is almost too feminine... that's funny because my husband has said the same thing about when he makes this expression. I've caught it on camera one other time. LOL.
