Absolutely stunning Craig! :clap :clap The colors and composition are excellent. I like the way the IR shows the detail inside the statue's left sleeve. One interesting point... on looking at it the 3rd time, I notice the difference in tone/color of the head in the reflection as compared to the statue's head. My guess is that the reflecting surface is absorbing some of the heat (IR) radiation before reflecting it back to the sensor. I've not seen that in other IR shots I've looked at.

PS. When are you leaving for NS? I still want to PM you some info from our trip, but things have been hectic here recently.

Morning Jack,

Thanks very much for the very kind comments and reply.

The reflection was off of a polished Stainless Steel platform instead of water. There was supposed to be water in the large pool, but when we were there it looked like they were working on it.

Thanks for remembering NS, we leave the first week or so in September, and needless to say, really excited about the trip. I would love to hear any thoughts, hints, or suggestions, especially on neat things that ya'll saw along the way or wonderful photo ops.

Thanks again!!!

I agree....absolutely stunning :thumb What a beautiful sculpture.

Why do they always have to build buildings around such beautiful things :scratch

Howdy Mary Kim,

Thank you very much, I know what you mean about the buildings, but I guess they put the statues and works of art where the people are.

Beautiful capture. No buildings in the reflection. :thumb Regarding Jack's comment on the reflecting surface absorbing some of the IR radiation, I have seen in some IR shots of the Korean War Veterans Memorial that the reflections of people from polished stone surface look more natural than the people themselves.

Howdy Anthony,

Thanks very much for the very kind reply.

It's odd what type of things reflect and what don't.

I had forgotten how hauntingly beautiful your Shot of the Korean War Memorial, I think it's one of my very favorites of yours!!!

Thanks again.
