To those of you who provide all edited images to your clients, do you usually provide them on a CD or a DVD? Seems like a DVD is the best choice because of the increased storage ability but I am a little concerned some people may have outdated computers and are not able to read DVDs. What do you think?

Hello
Good question. My wife and I own a business and do photo to print and to CD/DVD onsite. We shoot Radio Control Car Racing for a canadian corp. We do some of the DVD on site and mailers for the rest. Storage for CD and a few issues with burining with a Vista based op system. The DVD we have had no problem with and most, if not all who order photos, take the DVD.

I offer the choice to the client. Most still choose CD's because of their belief that it is easier to share via computer. Most people still assume DVD's are for television.
People who are more up to date on technology tend to order DVD's.

I don't tell the client which one I'll be delivering. I just say it depends on how many photos and whether it fits on a single CD or not. While some people don't have DVD burners, I figure virtually everyone can read DVDs.
