why is it that so many flying things start with a B? http://dgrin.com/images/smilies/yelrotflmao.gif

Ok, these aren't the greatest, but they're good memories and I figured I'd share. I'm also curious if any of the rest of you have tried seriously to get good bat pictures? We just aimed the cameras around and took pictures, but I figure there has to be a better way, and perhaps some tricks to it. Anyway, let me know what you think. http://dgrin.com/images/smilies/icon10.gif

These guys are incredibly quiet. Hardly even a swish, until one of them smacks into something, which did happen. http://dgrin.com/images/smilies/yelrotflmao.gif

Here's Kelsey (Prezwoodz) trying for a closer angle. Both flashes at one time provides odd shadows.

One of the neat things about this forum is the diversity of interests!

I've never tried to take a bat photo, much less seen one! I didn't think I was claustrophobic until I saw this picture! :D

Hehe, well except for catching a few little Alaskan mouse-bats in a cage, this was my first real experience with bats. It's quite awesome to stand there in a cave and watch them fly around. They make almost no noise, except for the squeaks and an occasional thwack into a stalactite. Quite a cool experience!

Now that's something you don't see every day. Something that most people wouldn't want to be within a thouasnd yards of.. :rofl I think it'd be cool.

Thanks for giving us the other side of the BIF coin...
