I recently started doing time exposures for night shots and got lucky with the one below using my Sony F828. I'd love to see some of your shots and hear what you are doing to achieve success.

I looks like a really nice shot:thumb It's way to small though, I think you need to change your link size from SM.

Andy,

I love that first one. The atmosphere is excellent. That would look fantastic poster sized for a screening room.

The second to last one is awesome also, but that first one really took my breath. The lighting, shadows, everything made me feel nostalgic just like the movies beeing shown.:thumb :thumb

The Cincinnati Reds photo is my favorite USAIR. :) I like the industrial themes! I should go down to the industrial side of Reno sometime. I just need to bring someone with, creepy there by myself.

I recently started doing time exposures for night shots and got lucky with the one below using my Sony F828. I'd love to see some of your shots and hear what you are doing to achieve success.is this one taken of the Port Causeway and the Bayside Marina in Miami. I didn't have a triood with me, so I just laid the camera on a 2nd floor railing, set it on timer and shot at 3s f/4 ISO100. Almost no post-processing except cropping and slight lightening.

Were you using some sort of filter to get the star effect round the lights?

And this is a general request to everybody, what exposure are you using?

iso 100 f13 20seconds

No filters, I think that the stars come when you use a small aperture :dunno

Well these two shots are not in any way special for content or composition but I was just trying my hand at night exposures and was pleasantly surprised, especially considering they were both done hand-held. Comments welcome and encouraged.

Angelo, the first could use a tri-pod however came out very well with just hand-held. The second reminds me of like a Gotham City/Batman type setting. My vote is #2
