Crater Lake 4 shot Panoramic

I have not really tried to do panoramics before. I sure could not record the whole scene while at Crater Lake in one shot, so I decided to try stitching 4 shots together. It is a bit dark, but I was fairly happy for a first attempt. I used PS CS3 to stitch 4 photos together and then finished the photo off in LR.
Any comments and suggestions appreciated.

Ooohhh...that's beautiful! What an expansive and wonderful view, Ron. I wonder if you can brighten up the very dark areas at all?

Thanks Mahesh. Here is a 2nd attempt at trying to lighten it up a bit. Not sure it is much better though.

Better! I wonder if it'd be easier on you to make the changes on the individual shots before stitching them? :ear

I think it's better too. :thumb I don't know about lightening the individual images prior to stitching. If you did that, you'd have to be really good about lightening up each one just the same amount or the stitching may look "funny." :D

I like the second version but I think it could be improved if you cropped out that bit of fence on the right side.

True, but ACR is pretty good about allowing you to select all the images and adjust them similarly. Of course, I guess this depends on you having had the same camera settings across the board as you were shooting it!

I have had great success with CS4 stitching slightly off-exposed shots but I've not worked with CS3. YMMV :D

Number 2 seems better to me,also. I agree with Dan on the fencepost, but I'm not sure you can crop it out without losing some nice features on the right. Maybe just darken it so it doesn't draw your eye?
