Being Media. What a rush to have complete access to an event. Go wherever you want, see whatever you want. Peoples eye's lighting up when they find out you are from a magazine they read and are taking their photo. So close I can get shots like this.

Just a quickie from tonight. I'm sure not the best but it demonstrates how close I was.

I need to find some very small local papers around here where I can get an ID of some sort......even if I am not necessarily doing "newspaper business" it would sure come in handy to have press credentials (albeit a small local paper) when I need em. :D
I tried looking online for some really small local papers, but I could only find the big ones and a couple that are not my area. :scratch

It's easiest to get into with the niche market. Right now I am shooting mainly for niche magazine's. One I am doing free cause I want to go to the event. The others pay alittle not much but alittle. Plus I'm hoping I'll get some sales off people at the events. As far as finding a small paper you really won't find them online. You pretty much need to look for them at local coffee shops, books stores, hang out kinda places. The next step for me is to approach some of the small town gazettes here. It's worth it though to me to build my portfolio right now even if it's not tons of money. Once I get my portfolio the way I want then I will require more money. Last night when I was shooting the balloons I was actually recognized by a photographer from one of the other boards who was in the crowd. Had never seen a picture of me but had heard I was there and when he saw me running around the field figured it had to be me. I'm taking him in to shoot with me this morning. Sorry if I'm rambling, this is what happens when I only get 2 hours worth of sleep.
