Broken Lens Lock on Canon EF-S 18-200mm

I was wondering if anyone else has experienced any problems with the lens lock pin/switch on the Canon EF-S 18-200mm lens? I've had the lens for a short time and the pin fails to lock the lens. I'm rather disappointed

If still under warranty, send it in. If out of warranty I would suggest local repair if you have access to a competent photo repair shop.

Do you need recommendations for a shop?

I don't think that lens has been out for a year yet, seems like Canon should fix it under warranty
