So I'm a lucky duck and my better half bought me a Fuji FinepixS5500 today. So first thing I do is run outside looking for something to shoot....And what should I find??

No doubt there.

Birds are challenging subjects, but very rewarding in the results.

Hi Ya......looks like my resident magpie, funny how they all look exactly the same hu......mines been around for years, but only one will eat out of my hand.
I love the way it comes up to the window on the deck to look inside the house to see if I am there to feed it :rofl I feed it dog food, and when it hears me at the door it runs up to the door and follows me down the yard to where I feed it waiting very impatiently mind you while I cut the food into strips like worms........this magpie brings in it's babies when it has them too as well as it's partner.

Congratulations on your new Camera...... Skippy (Australia)
