My wife and I recently joined smugmug. She has been a photographer for a long as I have known her. I am pretty handy customizing webpages to a point, but I definitely know my limits. She wants me to mirror the look of this site http://www.kimboxphotography.com/index2.php?v=v1 without going too far. I know the above site is fully flash and smugmug is not. Want she wants is the clean look, equal thirds black (top) white (middle) black (bottom) background, and to keep this style throughout the entire site. She likes the slideshow, but would actually like one static picture on the homepage that would be random each time someone visits. I have some some reading and slight customizing of the site, but I am about tapped. Any help and suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I also hope to be hanging around the boards for a while. Once I have my feet wet, I hope to help out others with issues. My wife's site is http://www.jessidphotography.com. The site is all beta at this point. Galleries and About page will change once the "house is framed."

Thanks in advance. :thumb

So I haven't gotten any hits with the first post. I can understand that. Might be asking a bit much, so let's take it piece by piece.

Can anyone give me some suggestions for changing the background to be black with a white stripe in the middle?

Thanks

Did you try uploading an image to use for the background and have it repeat horizontally? http://webfixture.com/websites_CL/example.gif

That works in a way, however I do not want the background to move as you scroll up or down the page. Thanks for the suggestion.

K, so I haven't tried it yet, but I want mine to float over a background too... You can always try reading here to see if it helps you! :)
