Firefox is fine, so is IE8 but 7 ..... not so much. The guestbook tab relocates itself magically to the left side of the screen. Any ideas guys?

Is it wrapping to the next line so that the 'guestbook' tab is underneath the 'Home' tab? I do not have IE 7 anymore, so I cannot see what you mean.

Well, in short, the width of your menu bar is too long for its containing element and so it is wrapping around to the next line in IE7. It does not look right in Firefox either. I would suggest eliminating the email tab completely and place the email link in your footer or place your email in your 'About me' description.

I did? really? I tried to make the navbar a little smaller as opposed to moving the email tab. I used to have an email link in the footer, but didn't like the idea that it brought up a default email program that some people don't use. I didn't realsie I had fixed it however.
I had to go to work and was going to try again when I got home, but now I have read your post I might not fix what aint broke. If I run IE8 in IE7 compatibility mode, the guestbook still shows up below in the wrong place. I'm keen to know if it looks that way on other peoples monitors or browsers however.

Well, actually I do not have IE 7, so I cannot say what it looks like there, but it does look better in Firefox. Try to find someone running IE 7 to find out for sure if it still wraps or not. Or you can install a Microsoft virtual machine to run IE 7.

Damn that was a fast reply. 8-)
I actually just posted again to find exactly that out. Internet explorer 8 has a developer tools button, and in it there is a compatibility mode to run like IE7, and it still goes weird in that. But I just don't know how to fix it, if making it smaller doesn't work. I'm not a coder at all. I'm a great cut n paster though 8-),

OK, now I see what I think is causing your problem. You have an extra

right after your 'Home' link in your html. It is causing an extra element to be created in IE7. Eliminate that and you ought to be fine. Let me know. You are from NZ huh? I was there a few years back on the South Island and on the Coromandel Penninsula of the North. I want to go back!

Yeah, sure are. Apparently it's an amazing place as far as photography goes (and don't get me wrong, it really is). It's very scenic and green and has some very untouched and natural places. Funny how you never find the place you live as interesting as places you visit though. We just moved to Cairns, Australia in may and everything I look at I want to photograph 8-) .......... I'll fix those errors now and get back to you. Cheers for all your help.

I think I'm all good now. that appears to have fixed it. Thanks so much once again.
I had a look at your South Island photos and they look great. Up until May I worked in a camera shop only 100 meters away from the Christchurch cathedral.
