Why do I always seem to get the funky clients! Saturday we had a dark artistry shoot which the client copied some labeled images that were up in a sneak peek gallery and attempted to re-edit items that she thought would look nice and posted them up to her facebook page. Now she gave us credit but the re-edits looked atrocious! WTF! I sent her an email telling her that she needed to pull down the re-edits stating copyright infringement! Has anyone else experienced this and how did you handle it?

Pretty much the same way you did. A simple, polite email asking them to take down the images.

While there are a lot of people without integrity, I tend to assume people are ignorant of copyright laws, and made a simple error. I also added that (because facebook was involved) Facebook's terms towards posted pictures automatically gives them the right to use those images without credit nor compensation to me.

The two people who did this, were more than happy to take down the images. Unfortunately, Facebook has zero policy regarding how long content is kept on their servers after users "remove" them.
