Couldn't find my friend that owns the car at the show, so there was not much I could do with the lighting.
I was shooting for focus on the rear chrome.
Thanks for any thoughts.

Composition and idea is great. I don't like that blue thing in the upper right hand corner. And use a circular polarizer next time you take the picture.

Love this car! One of my all time favs. With that said, how about a horizontal crop. That would remove some or even all of the sky and the blue item in the upper right hand corner. It would also show the length of the car.
Just a thought, it's a great image and the car's color is wonderful!

Nice shot but what about a B&W version. :whip:whip:whip:whip:whip:whip:whip:whip:whip:whip:whip:whip:whip:whip

For some reason I really like the vertical composition, so I would not change that myself. Just get rid of that blue thing. Second, I like the tight crop and the fact you can't see the front bumper.
I like the suggestion for a black and white conversion. That would be cool with a vintage car. And since the car is a pale blue and the vegetation is green, it should be easy to make the car stand out.
However, for either color or black and white, I really feel a circular polarizer is a must. All those reflections in the paint just really annoy me. And this is a filter you cannot replicate in Photoshop. My biggest complaint about the picture are those reflections.

Bill I would hav eto agree with you on that as well. I like reflections but on this shot they are starting to become distracting the more you look at it.

Thanks for the compliments and the suggestions. I'm going to do some research on the circular polarizer filter.
As for the big blue thing, it's one of those "space tower" rides, and my photo editing skills are not good enough to get rid of it. Next time I'll pay more attention to the background!
Thanks again,
Eric

my first reaction when viewing your photo was...boom- whow! I like it!...the cars color and perspective caught my attention ...other than that I will hold on my critique, as I am still attempting to progress from a snap shot photographer, to a photographer!
the following photo I took for the 'Worldwide Skyshoot 2005' and thought that I may as well use this as my first whipping post entry.
http://dgrin.smugmug.com/gallery/601861/1/25373255/Large (http://dgrin.smugmug.com/gallery/601861/1/25373255/Large)
a quick background on my thought process for this photo:
first of all the sky was a necessary aspect for this skyshoot challenge 2005 (and generally mid afternoon sky's in S California are generally boring at best....therefore I was pleased to capture some cloud..also I thought of this challenge as more a news report of my location at 2PM Saturday, so I chose to capture more of a overall commentary of the location, so in this case, given that the harbor was a happening, busy boating, restaurant area...I chose to also capture the seagull in a busy background as well, including boat moorings, boat masts, wharf fencing, etc.
having said this... re: exposure/sharpness, WB, composition, post processing, the works!...I fully expect to get hammered.
the following applies to any photos I post:

Hopefully this qualifies as a re-shoot.
Here are a couple of the suggestions, a B/w and a horiz crop. I also tried getting rid of the space tower.

good thing you got rid of that blue thing.:rofl , cropping more did do it, practice with the clone tool, when it works, it is really valuable. One of the first things I learned to do in PS, so.................you coulda done it in a pinch.
I like the reflections, love the car, love the shot, color/blk white. You know, I remember those cars, well, I am ONLY 65, my father bought them, quite proudly. We were a proud family, to the degree of obnoxious.
Anyway, I do like the color. For vintage I would usually want blk/white. In this case, I do like the color.
I don't know why there is a limit of numbers of posts. Doesn't take me much time to critique these at all. I can like them, hate them, whatever, say why and get out faster than saying things too carefully.
it is pouring rain, with thunder/lightening, no visuals, just scary!
hope we keep the power. It should blow over, would hate to then be without power. Especially if it were to blow the TVs, etc. And the PC.
OOps, just noticed a red thing on the lower left. Does it need to be there? I know the clone tool, cut the opacity back to below 10 somewhere and try it.
just a suggestion. If you don't like what you did, go to edit, click backwards, until you undo all that you did that you don't like. Do it before you go on, though, it gets complicated, and my history doesn't last that long, so the minute you think, hey I don't like this, go backwards, til you do.

OH wow! I believe I am in love. The ONLY, I repeat ONLY thing I don't like about this is the blue thing in the top right hand corner.. This is definately my "style" of photographs and I'm jealous that I didn't take this picture! The angle..colour\shininess! Everything is amazing! Props to you! Jamie.

Thanks Jamie! Going back in the archives to find that one. I forgot that I had posted it!

This is a great improvment on the photo with the crop and space tower gone.
I love the angle of the photo.
I have a problem with the shadows on the trunk.
I would love to see a photo of the car out of the shadows.
Take Care,
