Darter dragonfly series. All shots natural light/fill flash.
#1 with 40D/sigma 105 all the rest 5D mk2/MPE-65.

jaw dropping! do you sneak up to the little buggers? because most of the time im chasing insects rather than shooting them :D

Chris, No I tend to move in slowly watching how the dragonfly reacts and take shots as I get closer. As long as you don't take liberties they seem to get used to you being there and allow you to get pretty close.

Just using my normal 430Ex + diffuser set at -2/3rds FEC. Camera set on -1/3EC

JPC - yes the dragonfly was in fairly strong direct sunlight.
Ian - using a diffused 430Ex set at -2/3 FEC.
