I created a sub category in my 'Portfolio' http://www.nickhaigh.net/Portfolio
called Commissioned Work but the thumbnail for this is smaller than the other galleries on the page, how can I change that thumb to the same size?

I have changed the gallery thumbs to 'Original' & 'Square' but the sub category thumb is still smaller! :scratch

no one seems to know the answer

Odd, they they should all be 150x150 with less the six on page. Try
regenerating the display sizes for that photo like rotating left then right and
see if it corrects it. Just a reach.

No, Just tried this and it's still small compared to the other gallery thumbs
also when you click to go to the galleries within the Sub-Category the thumbs are the same size...if that makes sense!

so it's just the sub category (commission work) thumb that's smaller

in fact, I don't think it's the sub category thumb that's too small, I think it's the other 2 gallery thumbs
on the page that are too big, as I have checked with the 'Galleries' page and they are the same size
as the sub category thumb...so I had discribed it wrong first off.

but any ideas how to change this?

Feature a different photo in that gallery and see if it comes in small. Then
re-feature back to the original one. It's currently picking up -Ti-2.jpg in the
html and should be Th-jpg.

Looks like a bug to me though.

I added it to the bug report forum, might track it there.

Another thing to try is rearrange the thumbs and see what happens, just curious. :D

How do I rearrange the thumbs on this page?

How do I rearrange the thumbs on this page?
Go to your main galleries box on your galleries page and make sure "position" is
selected instead of "recent" (upper left corner of box). This will activate the
arrange selection on every gallery, category and sub-cat box.

Nope, I don't have that option..
I only have:
Add Photos | Tools | Buy | Themes | Visitor View

nothing else on the page I can change :scratch

You need to get a few of your galleries on your homepage because that's where this setting is. Your galleries view is a category, not a copy of your homepage and this setting is not there.

I'd suggest temporarily comment out this CSS:

.homepage #galleriesBox,
.homepage #categoriesBox,
.homepage #featuredBox {
display: none;
}

and add your galleries to your homepage with the homepage layout button. Then, when you see a listing of categories on your homepage, you should be able to get to the link that Allen mentions right above the category thumbs. Then, you can put things back again.

anything else I can do?[/quote] Nick, you are using a script (that I wrote) that combines the sub-categories and the gallery thumbs into one box and it hides some of the remaining chrome. It will be easier to sort out what's going on in this page if you remove that script and disable the CSS associated with it so you can see the real Smugmug page.

I think you may be seeing the fact that while gallery thumbs will go to 150x150 when there are 5 or less, sub-category thumbs don't do that - perhaps they are always 100x100. So, as long as you have 5 or less galleries, they won't be the same size as your sub-category thumbs and thus you should not combine them like you are doing (or add more galleries).

This is the page
http://www.nickhaigh.net/Portfolio
I would just like the Sub Category & Galleries on the same line and the thumbs all the same size

I've removed the following code (that you wrote) from the CSS
/*=====No Titles!!=====*/
#galleryTitle,
#categoryTitle,
#subcategoryTitle,
#subCatGalleryTitle
{display:none;}

/*====No More Border====*/
.galleryPage,
.boxBottom,
.boxTop,
.box
{border:none !important;}

plus the code in the Bottom JavaScript

it's now back to how it was when I created the Sub Category.

I cannot remember what code you told me to add? I have removed
the code from CSS but this has just added borders, not moved the sub category away from the galleries.
what else was it I added?
The script will temporarily not combine the categories and galleries if you put #stop on the end of the URL like this (you may have to hit refresh to force a page reload):

http://nickhaigh.smugmug.com/Portfolio#stop

or you can change this one line of your bottom javascript from this:

YE.onContentReady("subcategoriesBox", CombineCategoriesWithGalleries);

to this (comments it out so it won't execute):

// YE.onContentReady("subcategoriesBox", CombineCategoriesWithGalleries);

Once I did this, I then changed the 2 gallery thumbs back to 'Original' size and now they are of similar size (apart from the sub category is square & galleries are portrait)
but they aren't as large as before.
I now need to move the 2 galleries & sub category thumbs back up to the same line and remove the borders & text.

I've added the code I had back into CSS & Bottom JavaScript
it's not perfect but much better than before.
They seem to be more of an equal size now :clap

so I have no idea what the problem was.

When you switched them to rectangular, they went from 150x150 to 100x150. That just looks better with 100x100. There wasn't really a "problem" per se in that you or Smugmug were doing anything wrong - that's just the way it is.

The overall issue is that gallery thumbs get bigger when there are fewer of them (5 or less). Category thumbs do not. So, when you combined them, they didn't match. If you added more galleries (got it up to at least 6), they would shrink down in size and would match the category thumb.
