Never been to Kerry Park in Seattle WA. thapamd was the catalyst for me, by posting this photo (http://www.dgrin.com/showthread.php?t=136371&highlight=full+moon+seattle), to get off my bottom and get over to shoot my very first night shot. Well I caught the blue hour and was able to walk away with this exposure. Popular place to take a picture of the city:

very nicely done! you're right, Kerry Park is popular, especially on warm summer evenings... i haven't been there in several years, but your shot makes me wonder if it isn't time to head over there for an evening...

Thanks for all the comments. Like I said a fellow dgrinner "forced" me by posting a great shot. Now with Danny and Ron running all over the PacNorWest making excellent exposures, my wife is rolling her eyes as I plan trips to Mt. Rainer, Helens and over to the Olympics.
Rob
Edit: Thanks for the comment on the watermark. Wife made me do it :D

Fabulous shot, Rob! You do Seattle proud! The only suggestion I have is to clone out the crane on the left side. That blue sure is pretty! :thumb

Thanks everyone for posting comments and constructive critiques. I used your inputs and then entered this photo in the Kitsap Fair. I just found out I placed 1st with best in class and best in category with another special award (gotta figure out that one :D ) Thanks!!
Rob
Here is my award board collage:

I entered four photos in four different categories. I was awarded two first places and two second places.
Here are the photos in case you have missed them in the past or I forgot to post heh:
2nd place: Nature: Adult Amateur

2nd place: Animals: Adult Amateur

1st place: Creative, Best of Category: Adult Amateur
http://www.refractivephotos.com/KFair2009/rt66.jpg
And of course the photo I started this thread with: 1st place, Best of Class, Best of Category and Special Recognition Award
It goes to show that with some good critiques, one can do well overall. Again, not just for this one, but for all the photos I received help on, Thank you!
Rob
p.s. for those of you that are lurking, please, please get on and start posting and commenting. Something small as a comment or critique helps all of us out quite a bit.
p.s.s Mahesh, thanks for the comment. I fixed that before I printed. Photo was definitely subtly better.

Thanks for the comments! There is no such thing as a "stupid" question, just the ones you fail to ask. Here is a link:

I also had to look it up when someone used that phrase a while back.

Thanks for the kind words!
I love your photos you have posted! Those are some really really great looking shots with some outstanding PP'ing! I am going to have to try my hand at a shot similar to your ferris wheel one as there is one at the fair 2 blocks away from me!
