On Monday and Tueasday, I'm planning a backpacking trip to the Point of Arches. Here's a shot from my last trip there. Not a grandiose landscape, I'll grant you, but I love the microenvironment present all over the pools during low tide. Enjoy!
Canon 1Ds MkII & 100mm f/2.8 macro.

Thanks, Linda! Pastels are my specialty. My wife love those tones, so I try to look for them in nature. Happy wife, happy life. :D

Thanks, Eia! I'll be going with my brother-in-law, who is camping for the first time. I could of no better place than the Point of Arches. If I get some good shots, I'll be more than happy to share. :D

Thanks, Dan! I'm hoping to get the same kind of magic light as you and Ron did on your trip to the coast. Wish me luck! :D

This is a great photo, such wonderful vibrant colors.
I haven't been to Shi-Shi before - it's on the list, hopefully the light will cooperate, if it's overcast, you can get some great macros like you did here even if the wide angle landscapes won't work out.

Thank, Ron! I'm just glad to be getting out of town and spending some time on the beach with a camera. Any day with a camera is a good day. Here's how I figure it...if the weather is partly clouds, it'll be great for landscape photography. If the sky is completely clear, it'll be great for star trails. And if the sky is overcast, as you mentioned, it's perfect for tide pool images. I'm "guaranteed" to come back with something good...oh boy, I think I just jinxed myself there. :D

Thanks, Chris! The trick, I've found, is to use a polarizer to take the glare off the the water surface. It also really helps to bring out the colors as well.

Thanks, Ron! I'm very excited, even though it's just Saturday and I don't leave till Monday. In fact, I'm already packed. I have been debating which system to take...right now it's between my light Oly and the heavier but "better" Sony. I'm leaning towards the Sony. :D
