View Full Version : OBX Fireworks, from the ocean

I wasn't sure where to post these, but since my goal was to convey the sense of place along the shore, I am bringing them here to the Landscape forum for your comments and suggestions. These were shot from about 6 feet out in the surf, depending on the waves at any given moment.

The first is with the Tokina 11-16, a very long exposure toward the end of the fireworks to really bring up the beach exposure

Next is a more zoomed view, I am partial to the silhouettes of the kids running around in the waves, but it may be more obvious to me what those shapes are since I was there

And finally, a zoomed in view showing the multitude of fireworks going off all along the beach. It really is a great place to spend the 4th!

I like how you caught these fireworks starting from the ground - pretty cool! You don't usually see that.

I'm so glad you didn't "overdo" this by boosting up the saturation or contrast too much. Often, it's easy to get carried away with the vibrancy or saturations sliders when dealing with fireworks...God knows I'm guilty of that also. :D
