For some reason, I expect to see Little Red Riding Hood trotting down this path. Call me crazy. :D

Oh. OK:
Once upon a time, there was a little girl who lived in a village near the forest. Whenever she went out, the little girl wore a red riding cloak, so everyone in the village called her Little Red Riding Hood...:rofl
Just kidding!

Thanks, Eia. See what Linda said. :D
There is sort of a story behind this picture. My wife and I were up early, doing some hiking along one of the trails in Redwood NP. All of a sudden, out of no where, we see this path just appear. One second we were walking on a trail, and the next this primitive road crosses our trail path. We followed it for a little while but could tell it probably went for a long way. We stopped, turned back around, and did the rest of the hike along our original trail. I took a picture of this road to document our "weird" encounter of a path from nowhere, especially since it was so photogenic with all that mist and overhanging branches. :D

Thanks, Joel! I sometimes have a little dinner party at my home where my friends and I sit around, looking at my pictures from a recent trip, and we try to come up with names for the picts. A good friend of mine came up with this one. :D

Great comp and even better mood with the mist!
I'm heading up to Seqouia for a quick trip in about a week and I hope that if I get up early enough I may be able to catch some mist among the trees like you've got here, but I'm sure that's anything but guaranteed this time of year.

Thanks, Chris! I've never been to Seqouia, but I'd love to go one day. I hope you get lots and lots of mist, and some great sun beams coming through the trees and mist. I'll keep my fingers crossed. :D
Believe it or not, this shot was taken in July at the Redwoods...they have mist year around. I don't know about Seqouia, however.

I fear that Seqouia may be too far in land for misty morning goodness, but perhaps the elevation will help. Either way, it's my first time there and I'm sure I'll never want to leave!

Sorry to hijack, but having read up on both of these amazing kinds of trees, not much mist to be found around the Sequoias. The reason why the redwoods are unique are because they only grow in the "fog belt" around the coast from NoCal and farther into Oregon.
Redwoods are no less impressive though as shown here. :D

Very nice work! Last summer I was able to spend a whole three hours in the Redwoods but wasn't fortunate enough to get some fog. I'm glad to see you got some good conditions.

I ended up going to Baker/Shuksan instead, Artist Point is already open! My oncall (not nearly as serious as yours - but it affects my travel ability just as much) doesn't start until Monday, so I need to take advantage of these next few days as much as possible. Someday our schedules will align, if it works out, I may even let you try Danny's tripod out since it's still in my trunk from last week :D

We PNWerners should set up a Google calendar or something and try to coordinate some shooting get-togethers. What do you think? :D
